One of the country’s top visitor attractions is celebrating good news to herald a new year.
Autoworld Museum in Brussels says it is “particularly proud” to announce that last year, just like 2022, was another record year in terms of visitor numbers.
In 2023, the museum welcomed no less than 235,000 visitors, what it calls “a spectacular achievement especially if you take into account that this number doubled in a mere five years.”
The new year, 2024, begins “equally ambitiously”, it says, with the “Porsche Expo Driven by Dreams” running until 25 February.
Commenting, Sebastien de Baere, General Director of the museum, told this site: “Of course there are more promising highlights on the agenda.”
These, he added, include the traditional Love Bugs Parade (11/02/24), the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the iconic VW Golf, the 60th anniversary of the legendary Ford Mustang, a retrospective on the history of Formula 1.
He goes on, “There are a few more surprises that we would like to keep secret until further notice.”
de Baere thanked “all visitors and enthusiasts who made this success possible.”
The exhibition Porsche Driven by Dreams is timely as the famous German car company has marked its 75th anniversary and many of the vehicles on display have already attracted visitors from far and wide.
These are not just any ‘ordinary’ Porsche cars as some have never been shown in public before.
“This truly is a world class collection of Porsche cars. This is our eighth temporary exhibition of the year and our biggest yet,” said a spokesman.
The museum, at Parc du Cinquantenaire/Jubelpark 11, Brussels, is open daily from 10am to 5pm.
