After 18 months of closure, the Mirano, led by a new team which is determined to mark the occasion, is ready for the long awaited reopening of clubs on October 1st.
After 18 months of closure, the Mirano announces its grand reopening with a brand new team and a brand new, more varied and diversified programming for Friday nights, curated by the founders of Hangar. The team made the most of their long months of absence and took the opportunity to put in place a new high‐quality sound system and acoustic treatment, as well as a new opening hours.
This ‘Mirano 2.0’ promises to be superior in every way and its Friday programming plans to meet all electronic music tastes by introducing the Reflect (techno), Soulcity (disco/house), MIND (downtempo founded by Hangar) as well as programming their most legendary urban concepts for Saturday nights.
Cameron Heal, co‐artistic director of the Mirano and co-founder of Hangar explains: “Marvin Weymeersch and I were hired as co‐artistic directors just before clubs closed back in March 2020.
Due to the pandemic, we were unable to put our vision in place before we closed our doors. We were however able to work on the club’s acoustics, the sound system and the programming over the past few months. We also worked on a more up‐to-date logo so that people understand that this really is a fresh start for the club with a new team.
As for Friday’s programming, we wanted to it to be more open to other styles of electronic music. Indeed the Brussels crowd (and that of surrounding areas) is very open-minded and appreciates a multitude of different genres in electronic music. This is why we wanted to broaden the horizons and create a Disco/House concept called Soulcity especially since Marvin and I are big fans of this musical style.
Jérôme Blanchart, owner of the Mirano also points out that “in addition to a new programme, the team is betting on trying to change the habits of clubbers.
After much discussion with other club managers and owners, we wanted to rethink the opening hours.
Following the pandemic, the public has changed their going out habits, both in restaurants and in bars where customers go out earlier.
We therefore took this opportunity to adapt the hours of Mirano and Spirito, now open from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Each establishment is of the opinion that the last morning hours are often “the problem hours …”.
So we decided with the Spirito, Le Mirano, Bloody Louis and many others, to adapt our previous schedules”.
