Founded in 1893, Maredret Abbey is a jewel of neo-Gothic architecture and a spiritual center inhabited by a community of Benedictine nuns.
True to their motto “ora et labora,” the sisters of Maredret combine tradition and modernity by integrating economic activities such as artisanal beer production, inspired by the teachings of Saint Hildegard.
The plants used in Maredret beers come directly from the abbey’s gardens, carefully cultivated by the sisters.
The open days offer a unique opportunity to discover the abbey, its history, and its contribution to Belgian brewing tradition.
By combining innovation and ancestral know-how, Maredret beers are a tribute to the abbey’s values and heritage.
