If you’re looking for special gifts and great bargains, don’t miss the BCWCB’s annual Spring Market. BCWCB is the British and Commonwealth Women’s Club of Brussels.
You’ll find home-made marmalades, jams and cakes, hand-made jewellery, gifts and Easter decorations, along with second-hand English books, plants and garden items. There will also be a light lunch bar offering quiches, sandwiches and salads that can be enjoyed on the garden terrace, if weather permits.
Profits from the Spring Market provide the Club with funds to continue offering members a convivial clubhouse where many of our activities take place.
“We have close to 250 members and counting,” says Carole Jenner, BCWCB President, “Many of whom joined the Club because they are looking to make new friends, explore new interests, and basically optimise their experience of living in Belgium. We believe that we are meeting an important need for English-speaking women in Belgium.”
The Club celebrated its 56th anniversary last year and provides a myriad of weekly activities ranging from bridge, tennis, pilates to jewellery, painting and language classes and full-day sightseeing trips and cultural excursions.
The Spring Market is open from 10:00 until 14:00 on Saturday 28 March at the BCWCB Clubhouse on rue au Bois/Bosstraat 509 in 1150 Brussels. Entrance is free. For more information about this event or the Club, please visit www.bcwcb.org.
