The News Agency APA reports that the Monitoring Group of Human Rights Organizations has presented a new report on violations of human rights and freedoms in Armenia.
The report contains detailed information on cases of violation of human rights and freedoms, ill-treatment of civilians, people detained during demonstrations, and criminal cases against journalists in Armenia during the period 2020-2022.
Although the Pashinyan government positions itself as a “democratic government”, the facts reflected in the report call into question the democratic credentials of the Armenian government: “As a monitoring group of human rights organisations, we call on international organisations and institutions in the field of human rights, to respond sensitively to this inhuman treatment taking place in Armenia and refrain from double standards,” the report says.
