The 20 km of Brussels has grown and transformed into a ‘Run for Europe’. With the help of the European institutions, the European Parliament’s Sport Group and many partners, this virtual race will allow all Europeans, from their homes, to play sports and transform this activity into online donations for charities.
More than ever, while the health crisis has weakened the daily lives of many people, charities need support for their programmes to help the most disadvantaged. On the other hand, never before have so many people wanted to play sports, if only so as not to have to wear a mask or because so many activities are restricted.
The idea of “Run for Europe” is therefore to reconcile the two. So this year, unable to organise the 10th chapter of the 20km of Brussels for health reasons, this new sporting event will take place everywhere but virtually.
“Run for Europe” offers you, from October 16 to 18, to run (walk, pedal, toot, …) near you, for a good cause. The kilometers traveled will be donated to the association of your choice. An application will help you with the counting. “Run for Europe” will travel all over Europe with two main ideas: practising a sporting activity and helping people in need.
