On September 5th, the 32nd edition of the Economic Forum, the largest and most important conference in Central and Eastern Europe, will begin at the Gołębiewski Hotel in Karpacz.
The Eastern Studies Institute Foundation, in cooperation with the City of Karpacz and the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, is once again organizing this exceptional international gathering.
This year’s main theme is “New Values of the Old Continent – Europe on the Threshold
of Changes.”
The 32nd Economic Forum will take place from September 5th to 7th, 2023, at the Gołębiewski Hotel in Karpacz. Organized for over thirty years, the Economic Forum has become a gathering place for representatives from the worlds of politics, business, and academia. The event will host over 5,000 guests, including presidents, prime ministers, political decision-makers, CEOs of global companies, esteemed experts, and exceptional artists.
The strength of the Forum’s brand lies in its international character, as evidenced by attendees from over 60 countries and widespread media coverage.
This year’s edition features more than four hundred debates with participants from around the world. The agenda includes topics such as security, energy, and international politics. Similarly to previous years, the programme includes well-established segments such as the Healthcare Forum, Regions Forum, Business and Management, and Sustainable Development.
Additionally, due to events beyond our eastern border, a significant portion of the programme is dedicated to an expanded Ukrainian track named “Rebuilding Ukraine,” compared to previous years. The panel discussions will primarily focus on the future of Europe, Poland-Ukraine partnership, financing the reconstruction of the Ukrainian economy, and Ukraine’s relationship with the European Union.
Since 2018, a key element of the Economic Forum has been the presentation of a report prepared by the organizers in collaboration with the Warsaw School of Economics. This year, the sixth edition of the report will be unveiled. The publication provides a comprehensive academic analysis of the state of the Polish economy and Central-Eastern European countries in 2023.
An integral part of the Economic Forum is the awards ceremony for distinguished individuals and organizations that have contributed to Europe. The Programme Council will once again present awards in three categories: Person of the Year, Company of the Year, and NGO of the Year.
The event will be accompanied by a rich cultural and recreational programme, including concerts, film screenings, and presentations of regional tourist attractions. Author meetings, a tradition of the Economic Forum, will also take place. The programme will be held each day of the conference after 7:00 PM.
